Breathe Slowly, Not Deeply, For Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Anxiety disorders are extremely common and can be mild or severe and disabling. Medication may be effective but should be a last resort only. Typical relaxation methods are often not powerful enough and their effects tend to be temporary. But a method called slow breathing offers more than just relaxation. Slow breathing differs from the usual breathing advice because it avoids deep breathing, which can often cause hyperventilation.
